Quick Summary: PulseBoard is designed with privacy in mind. We don't collect personal information, we don't require accounts, and your coin preferences are stored locally on your device. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the app, and we connect to cryptocurrency price APIs to fetch live prices.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We do not collect any personal information. PulseBoard does not require:
- User accounts or registration
- Email addresses
- Names or contact information
- Payment information (Free version)
- Any personally identifiable information
1.2 Local Storage Data
PulseBoard stores your preferences locally on your device using browser LocalStorage:
- Coin List: Your selected cryptocurrencies (e.g., BTC, ETH, XRP)
- Settings: Display preferences and customizations
- ATH Data: All-time high prices for reference
Important: This data never leaves your device. It is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
1.3 Analytics Data (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use PulseBoard. Google Analytics collects:
- Usage statistics: Pages viewed, time spent, features used
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, screen size
- Geographic data: Country and city (approximate location)
- Referral source: How you found PulseBoard
This data is anonymous and aggregated. Google Analytics does not identify you personally.

1.4 API Connections
To display cryptocurrency prices, PulseBoard connects to these third-party APIs:
These services may log API requests (typically IP address and request time) per their own privacy policies. We do not control or access their logs.
2. How We Use Information
2.1 Local Storage
- Store your coin preferences so they persist between visits
- Remember your settings and customizations
- Cache price data for faster loading
2.2 Analytics
- Understand which features are most popular
- Identify technical issues and bugs

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data is only shared with:
- Google Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics (as described above)
- API Providers: Your browser sends requests to cryptocurrency price APIs to fetch live data
- Netlify (Hosting): Our website is hosted on Netlify, which may log basic server access information (IP addresses, request times) per their privacy policy
4. Cookies and Tracking

PulseBoard itself does not use cookies. However:
- Google Analytics may set cookies to track anonymous usage statistics
- Netlify (hosting) may use cookies for analytics and performance

We use browser LocalStorage (not cookies) to store your preferences. This data:

- Never expires unless you clear browser data

- Is not transmitted to any servers
5. Your Privacy Rights
5.1 Clear Your Data
To delete all locally stored PulseBoard data:
- Chrome/Edge: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy → Clear Data → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove PulseBoard
5.2 Opt Out of Google Analytics
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking:
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Enable "Do Not Track" in your browser settings (we honor this setting)
- Use browser extensions that block analytics (e.g., Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin)
5.3 Block Third-Party APIs
If you don't want API connections to cryptocurrency price providers:
- Use browser extensions to block API requests
- Note: This will prevent price updates from working
6. Data Security
We take security seriously:
- HTTPS: All connections to PulseBoard are encrypted via HTTPS
- No servers: We don't operate servers that store user data
- Local storage: Your preferences never leave your device
- No passwords: We don't store passwords or authentication credentials
7. Children's Privacy
PulseBoard does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The service is designed for general audiences interested in cryptocurrency price tracking. We do not target or market to children.
8. International Users
PulseBoard is hosted on Netlify's global CDN and accessible worldwide. If you access PulseBoard from outside the United States:
- Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate
- By using PulseBoard, you consent to the transfer of data as described in this policy
- We comply with applicable data protection laws
9. Third-Party Links
PulseBoard contains links to third-party websites:
- CoinGecko, Bitstamp, and Coinbase (price data attribution)
- Upgrade/payment processors (for Pro version)
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through:
- A notice on the main PulseBoard page
- Updates to our social media channels
Continued use of PulseBoard after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: Request information about data collected (which is minimal as described above)
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information (we don't collect personal information)
- Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of sale of personal information (we don't sell data)
Since PulseBoard does not collect personal information, these rights are largely not applicable. However, you can clear locally stored data as described in Section 5.
12. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of Access: Request information about data processing
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of data
- Right to Object: Object to data processing
Legal Basis for Processing: We process data based on legitimate interests (providing the service) and consent (Google Analytics). Since we don't collect personal data, most GDPR provisions are not triggered.
